Making A Purchase


Creating the Contract

You place an order on the website by selecting an item and following the instructions.
You will have an opportunity to check and correct any input error in your order up until you click the Submit Order button.
After you have submitted your order you will receive an order acknowledgement e-mail from us. Please note that this e-mail is an acknowledgement and not acceptance of your order.
If you are paying by credit card, we will authorize your debit or credit card payment. If you are paying by cheque, we will deposit your cheque on the first working day after we receive it.
Once payment has been authorised, or your cheque has cleared, and we have determined the availability of stock we will arrange for the delivery of the goods to you. Acceptance of your order and the creation of a legally binding contract between us will only occur when we send you a second e-mail which contains the details of how your We reserve the right to decline all or part of any order for whatsoever reason and should this occur we will e-mail you with these details.
It is recommended that you retain all e-mails relating to your order and contract.

Access to the destination room

Before placing an order, please check that the items of furniture will fit through any passages, stairwells, landings and doorways on the way to the destination room.

Delivery Schedule


We will deliver your goods to the address you provide us at the time you place your order. We can only deliver within the UK. If you live further afield we may be able to deliver to a port or shipment company. Please be aware that delivery charges or surcharges may apply. For more information call our sales team for further details (01463 222281).

Due to our commitment to the environment, we prefer to wait until all your items are in stock before we arrange delivery so that we can deliver them all at once. However, if you have an urgent need for one of the items on your order, we may be able to arrange for your in-stock items to be delivered separately. Subsequently, your out of stock items will be delivered at a later date. Please note that if you choose to split your order like this, you will incur an additional delivery charge.

Before placing your order, please check that the items of furniture will fit through any passages, stairwells, landings and doorways on the way to the destination room. We endeavour to give as much information as possible in respect to weight and size of our products, however, please contact our sales team on 01463 222281 if you are unsure.

Before delivery Please take care to cover any carpets or furniture and remove pictures and valuables from the delivery area.

Once you have signed for your goods, you will become the owner of the goods and therefore be liable for their subsequent loss or destruction. However, if you wish to for your goods to be returned after you have signed for them, please see our section on returns below.

Whilst we make every effort to adhere to delivery times, Blackbridge Furnishings Ltd are occasionally subject to delays from our suppliers, which may affect your delivery times. Unfortunately, Blackbridge Furnishings Ltd cannot be held liable for any delay in delivery beyond our control.

For all deliveries, it is essential that someone is available to receive delivery. Unfortunately, we will not be able to deliver your goods if there is no one at home to sign for them. If you miss your delivery you will be charged for the costs incurred. This is typically around £50 but varies depending on location and courier. If possible, you are more than welcome to have your goods delivered to a neighbour's house if you know they will be home. Please note that all our delivery services offer an all day service and we are not be able to advise of specific delivery times.

Please check the packaging of items being delivered is in good condition before If the goods are signed for. If items are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly by contacting us on 01463 222281. To keep your items in the best possible condition, they are carefully packaged to avoid damage during transit. When you receive your goods, please remember to keep the packaging until you're 100% satisfied with your order. In the unlikely event that you need to return the item we can only accept it in suitable packaging. This is really important, as each piece of furniture needs the same amount of protection returning to our warehouse as it does on its way to our customers.

Delivery methods are as follows depending on the size of your order.

Two Man Delivery
This applies to the majority of Blackbridge Furnishings furniture: Your items will be delivered by specialist couriers on a day to be decided between you and the courier. This service is completed by a two man crew who will deliver your items to your room of choice subject to access. Standard Two Man Delivery takes between 7-21 days after your order arrived in stock. The Two Man Delivery service costs £49 for orders under £500. For orders over £500 delivery is free to certain areas.

One Man Delivery
Our One Man Delivery service and costs £25.00. This service is completed by an unaccompanied driver who will deliver your items to your front door on a ground level location. The person accepting delivery may be required to help the driver with unloading of larger items, and delivery is to just inside your property. Standard One Man Delivery takes between 7-14 days after your order arrives in stock.

Whilst we will endeavour to adhere to delivery time slots, please bear in mind this may be subject to change due to circumstances outside the drivers control such as extreme weather conditions or excessive traffic.

Back Orders

Many of our products are available from stock.
If your item is not in stock, we will order it for you. You will be emailed with details of the proposed timescales and be given the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges

For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free.

Credit Card Security

When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.


Customers purchasing goods via our e-commerce technique have exactly the same statutory rights as a customer purchasing in the high street.

Black Bridge Furniture do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.

Returns Policy

Cancellation and Returns

You are able to cancel your contract with us at any time up to fourteen days after the day of delivery. If you wish to cancel your order you can do so in writing, either by emailing us at sales@blackbridgefurnishings.co.uk or by post to Blackbridge Furnishings Ltd, 42b Thornbush Road, Inverness, IV3 8AB, or by calling 01463 222281. We aim to respond to your request within 2 working days to confirm the cancellation, any refund due and collection details if goods have already been delivered.

Returns within 14 days of delivery:

If you have already received delivery, we will arrange collection of the goods on your behalf. Returns are absolutely FREE within 14 days of delivery. It is your responsibility to ensure that the goods are suitably packaged and in the same condition as they arrived ready for collection on the agreed date. It is not necessary to give a reason for the cancellation; however a reason is helpful in order to aid us in improving the service we offer to our customers.

Returns over 14 days of delivery:

If your item is damaged, you can return the item to us within 30 days and will not be charged for the collection of your item. However, the original delivery charge is non-refundable.

If your item is still in perfect condition yet you wish to return it for any reason, you will be subject to a collection charge. This charge is set by our courier company and will be confirmed by us when arranging a return.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the goods are suitably packaged. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they return to us and this causes the damage or deterioration of the products, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

Due to hygiene reasons, mattresses cannot be returned if they have been removed from their original packaging.
Flat pack and partially assembled items cannot be returned if they have been assembled.

Assembly of flat pack items are the sole responsibility of the customer. Blackbridge Furnishings Ltd accept no responsibility for damage to any parts by a third party.

This cancellation policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Faulty Goods

While we do our utmost to ensure your goods arrive in perfect condition, if you should find any problem with your order, our team will be happy to resolve this for you. Please contact us on our number 01463 222281 and one of our customer services team will happily take you through the returns process. You have 30 days from date of delivery in which to report any missing or damaged items and we ask you to follow up your initial contact in writing by way of an email to sales@blackbridgefurnishings.co.uk.

Please do not attempt to fix any problems yourself without speaking to our team first. Unfortunately we are unable to accept goods back if any changes have been made, as this will invalidate the manufacturer's warranty.

If you are ordering flat pack furniture we ask that you check all the components are in the package as per the instructions, before attempting to assemble the furniture. If you start assembling the furniture before checking the components and decide that it is unsuitable, unfortunately we cannot accept the flat pack item back into stock assembled or part assembled. If you require a replacement part for your flat pack furniture, please contact us on 01463 222281 and we will try to arrange a replacement.

We endeavour to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products on our website, however, as different computers display colour tones differently we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy of the pictures or photographs that are shown.

Remittance Terms


If you have chosen to pay by card, once your order is received we will process the payment for your order by way of the credit or debit card details you have provided. In the event that there is insufficient stock to satisfy your order you will be informed as soon as possible. A refund will be processed through your chosen credit or debit card used for the payment of the order.
If you have chosen to pay by cheque, please send payment in full to the Online office address. We are unable to accept deposits via this payment method. Once your order is received we will deposit your cheque. Once the cheque has been cleared for payment, we will begin processing your order. In the event that there is insufficient stock to satisfy your order you will be informed as soon as possible. A refund will be made by cheque from us to you. If your order contains any item with a lead time of more than 4 weeks and you have opted to pay a 25% deposit by card, the balance outstanding must be paid in full on the same card before final delivery is made. As part of the checkout process, you will be requested to confirm that you agree to this. A receipt for the balance payment will be posted to your billing address. We do not operate a 'cash on delivery' system.
We will advise you if your payment details cannot be authorized for any reason or if your cheque has failed to clear. We may then invite you to pay by another method.
All prices and charges on this website are quoted in UK pounds. The price you pay for your order is that price which is displayed on the website. Prices include VAT unless otherwise stated but exclude delivery charges. Delivery charges are calculated as part of the checkout process, based on the proximity of your delivery address to our nearest distribution centre.
